Your local guide will arrange your departure time. Take a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, which includes a walk through the rain forest. The Victoria Falls, which plunge into a gorge permanently hidden by a veil of roaring spray, span the entire 2 kilometre width of the Zambezi River. In the Kololo language, they’re known as Mosi-oa-Tunya – “the smoke that thunders”. On a clear day, their white spray is visible from 50 miles away. Visit the cultural village and craft centre.

Afternoon at leisure until your departure for the sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. You may see wild animals come to the water to drink, hippos and crocodiles in the river.

Victoria Falls has much more to offer than just a view of the falls. Some of southern Africa’s greatest game parks lie within easy driving distance of the town. It is also a centre for adventure sports, whether it is bungee jumping, microlighting or white water rafting down the Zambezi. The town of Victoria Falls is tiny and easily explored on foot. Most of the shops and safari operators are clustered around the intersection of Park Way and Livingstone Way. Several tourist curio and craft shops lie just beyond the Falls Craft Village. Here you can buy everything from an 8 foot tall wooden giraffe to soapstone carvings and brightly coloured Zimbabwean batiks.
